Description

an exercise in texture, line and color that pushes the limit of acrylic paint on wood resulting in a surface that almost looks like ceramic. this effect was achieved by carving deep grooves/lines into the thick gesso layers initially and then thick and thin layers of paint were applied, often with a rag or my fingers, to get it deep into the grooves. additional layers of gloss medium add depth to the colors and protect the finish.
