as part of my obsession with stencilling, i began to stencil various phrases and words onto salvaged wood pieces as signs. after hurricane katrina, it was particularly easy to find wood scraps everywhere, so the signs became a bigger part of my repertoire. eventually, i started adding bottlecaps to the edges of some signs, both as a recycling measure and to give the signs more of a folk art flavor. my “abundance” signs have been, by far, my most popular.
(note: the lines between what is considered a “sign” and what is considered a “painting” are fuzzy so some items may appear on both pages.)
